Arkenites are a humonoid species native to the planet Arken II. They are an aquatic race with complex sensory organs that can detect changes in temperature, pressure, and magnetic fields. Arkenites were once a subject race of the Andorian Empire.
Appearance
Arkenites are distinguished by their three cranial lobes, pointed ears, and solid green eyes that lack an iris. They have pale skin veering toward gray or very light tan. They average 2.2 meters in height. To keep a sense of balance, Arkenites wear a piece of technology called the anlac'ven over their head in non-aquatic environments. They have an intrinsic sensitivity to planetary magnetic fields and seismic waves.[1][2]
Example Names

Notes
- At some point between the Andorians achieving warp capability and founding the UFP (2161), the Arkenites became their subjects. While relatively aggressive (in comparison to Humans), the former doesn't require the Andorians to "capture" worlds from other species. The events surrounding the disaster on the Azha-R7a mining colony in 2259, wherein the Arkenites briefly "joined" the Klingon Empire, suggest the Arkenites—as a culture—may readily trade their sovereignty for assistance. There may be a similar story in regards to their relationship with the Andorian Empire, especially since they were freed from subjectivity prior to the UFP's founding.
