• The Suurok will be printed in the issue between that of the Verne and Conestoga, as their presence probably would have been experienced by the Humans around this time.

Notes

• My original intention was that this cruiser would be a successor of the T’Khut class combat cruiser, but Enterprise episode "Breaking the Ice" indicates it was operational as early as 2136, when Captain Vanik assumed command of Ti'Mur. However, it would work that they were developed as science vessels and some were built/upgraded to become combat cruisers, as tensions with the Andorians deepened.

• They are equipped with particle beam weapons, photonic weapons, tractor beams, and deflector shields. The science vessels can achieve w 6.5, while the combat cruisers w 7.0.

• This vessel was in operation in the 2130s and 2380s, suggesting a very long operational period, that probably started before the 2130s and extended past the 2380s. Timo says it was first built in 1886 (2323 - 437 years), but that just seems too advanced to be that old. However, since the Kahs'khiori is almost as old (1924), I will entertain it. I'm setting 2149 as when the combat version was introduced, as a response to the Andorian Kumari dominating the "younger" T’Khuts.

• This class will eventually be commissioned into UFP Star Fleet duty, but not until 2323 as the Surak class exploratory cruisers. No original-build Suuroks transferred to the UFP Star Fleet.
