European Hegemony

The European Hegemony was a somewhat loose alliance in the European region on Earth, formed in the early 22nd century. Jean-Luc Picard described the Hegemony as one of the first steps toward a United Earth government, which was founded in 2130. By the 24th century, the Hegemony no longer existed.

• I've decided that the year provided for the European Hegemony's first use of the specified distress call is a good one to adopt for the founding of the government itself. I'm also presuming it continued on (to present) as a member of the United Earth government (much as the United States of America did).

• Presumably, the European Union either collapsed or morphed into the Hegemony prior to/at this time. From a SFC perspective, the EH is a formalized association that encompasses all of Europe, the Mediterranean, and north Africa, dominated by the EU.
