Build:Inner Hull and Secondary Skeletal Structure
4.2 Inner Hull & Secondary Skeletal Structure
(Required)
Cost: 4 x Size
Power Requirement: none
A ship’s inner hull is attached to the secondary framework of the skeletal structure (which consists of microextruded trusses mounted to the main trusses with rods). It includes multiple conduits, conductive members, and/or attachment points for various ship systems. Segments of the secondary framework can be separated from the primary framework to allow for the removal or replacement of sections of the inner hull, if necessary.
(Cardassian: Because they design their ships, first and foremost, for use in combat, the Cardassians construct them with simpler, sturdier spaceframes than those used by Star Fleet. Therefore, Cardassian inner hulls provide more protection than the hulls on most vessels. To simulate this, Cardassian inner hulls cost 5 x Size in SUs, rather than 4 x Size as on most other ships.)
SFC Technology Index
The Inner Hull and Primary Skeletal Structure of a starship (small craft, station, et al) are manufactured by the shipwright specifically for the ship contracted. As such, inner hulls and primary skeletal structures have no index.
