• Star Fleet asks the Vulcans to consider the construction of markedly larger scoutships.

• The first Class B2 inspection pod enters service with Star Fleet.

• The Class D3 work pod enters service with Star Fleet.

• The last of the Cavalry class light phase gun destroyers is sold to member navies of the UFP.

• Starting in this year, new Presidents of the United Federation of Planets are selected in the Federation Council by majority vote, from a limited quantity of candidates nominated by the members' representatives to the (newly established) Security Council for qualification screening.

• Vega IX, a Human colony, joins the United Federation of Planets.
