Guide:Companion

In Guide:Defiant and Valiant, the ECON's Akademik Mstislav Keldysh class cruisers are compared to the "Western Companion" as an equivalent, "capable of Earth-Mars or Earth-Jupiter runs and optimized for hunting down enemy shipping and anti-shipping vessels..."

FSC vol 3 has a brief section on page 15 detailing the largely non-compatible background of the Companion class, as well as spec data and a rough sketch of the ship by Rick Sternbach. Page 32 has a less rough sketch with even fewer and non-consistent specs. It is labeled as the "first major Terran warship class".

Structure:

Swarm and its events (see Sentry monitoring system)
- event came immediately after the point Earth had the technical ability to respond
- Earth rallies, though not without mishaps and lack of coordination
as a result, WA justifies the creation of a "cruiser" to seek out and deflect/destroy any other NEO
technical details of the ship/employment/interactions with Aphrodite "stations" (except for the one owned by a certain extremely solitary lone billionaire/former industrialist)
geo-political concerns of opposition nations/alliances
closing years
