Rigel II

Location: Beta Rigel

Names: Rigel II, Beta Rigel A II, Mokalar

History

• About 37,720 BCE: The Second Orion Empire settles the planet, with Kaylar slaves.

• Prior to 2165: The planet is settled by the Chelarians of Beta Rigel III, who work with the native Kaylars to develop the planet as an agricultural world.

This probably occurred not too much earlier (no more than a few hundred years at most).

• 2221: On a patrol mission out of the planet's Fleet outpost, USS Nestor (Bloodhound corvette) witnesses a rendezvous between a Orion transport convoy and a Klingon destroyer, revealing the trade relations between the governments.

Since the Chelarians have not yet joined the UFP, the Fleet outpost may have been something arranged as a joint effort, like with Deep Space Nine. Maybe this was a Deep Space outpost.

• 2275: The Chelarians (with both Beta Rigel II and III) join the United Federation of Planets.
