Historical Events

• The USS Laing (SV-53) is lost on an arctic assignment to an alien force only much later identified as the Borg.

In SFC, this event is most likely apocryphal.

• Select ships of the Vanguard class fast transport receive polarizable armor over command sphere, midhull and aft hull.
• The shipyards used in the construction of the Triton class are freed up (suggesting that the last ship was commissioned at that time).
• March: Earth is attacked by a Xindi superweapon from the Delphic Expanse, launched by the Xindi. The attack decimates a large area between Florida and Venezuela, killing seven million people.
• 24 April: USS Enterprise (NX class) returns to Earth.
• 24 April: The USS Intrepid (Triton class), in the first major human-Klingon naval confrontation, challenged and defeated three Klingon Birds of Prey.

The successful outcome of the battle is assumed, based on the context of the image text.
