Historical Events

  • (confirm) January: Following the sudden losses of two Earth vessels (the USS Atlas and the SS Muleskinner) in the same relative area in the same month, the United Earth Government grants the UESF additional funds for shipbuilding and personnel.[1]
The month is delayed to the start of the year, so that the 'loss' of the two ships can be realized.
  • (confirm) February: A UESF scout ship recovers the recorder-marker buoy from the lost USS Atlas. Recordings from the buoy reveal that the ship was not lost in space, but was fired upon by enemy aliens of unknown origin.[1]
  • August: Construction on the first four Triton class hulls is completed.[2]
Month is assumed, based upon statement "late 2145."
  • The Daedalus class survey cruiser begins operations with the UESF, with the commisioning of the USS Horizon, which begins test trials in the vicinity of Alpha Centauri, to verify operational safety. (The Daedalus prototype had been lost in 2140).[3]
