Historical Events

• The PB-2 series of warp engines were given an official clearance for warp 3 cruising, allowing the first 5 commissioned ships of the Daedalus class to enter active status.

• The first six Ganges class destroyers are launched and, after two months of validation trials, operational testing is initiated. USS Erie and USS Keflov are sent to escort a group of medium freighters to Earth Colony Six. A raiding party, presumably Nausicaan, penetrates into nominally Earth-patrolled space and engages the convoy; there are no survivors aboard the destroyers, and only one of the freighters managea to escape into high warp.

The actual raiders were Romulans.

• The Delta VII outpost is destroyed by what are assumed to be pirates.

In actuality, Romulans were responsible.

• The final Class B2 heavy transatmospheric pod is retired from service with the United Earth Starfleet.

• Benzites discover warp technology.

• The SS Urusei Yatsura, commanded by Steve Tucker, launches from the Sol system on a nebula survey project.

This ship may have been a DY-430.

• February: The Triton class heavy cruiser enters service with the UESF, upon the commissioning of the USS Triton and USS Redoubtable, starting first with two years of shakedowns.
