History

• 2186: settled by Andorian colonists.
• Early 2230s: The loss of a number of "keystone" predator species in the early decade heralds the first clear signs of ecological collapse.
• 2238: A visiting biological survey team from the University of Oreas (Alpha Centauri Prime) raises the alarm when the entire pollinator role shows a drastic decline in numbers between two growing seasons.
• 2245: R'Vel suffers a total ecological failure, leading to a food supply collapse and widespread famine. Aid is critically delayed because the Federation and Star Fleet lack the legal jurisdiction to intervene directly on a member-world's colony without a protracted bureaucratic consultation with the "parent world", in this case Andoria.

Notes

• The planet must be significantly remote as to be an issue when (in 2245) the famine conditions become clear.
