History

  • 2358: Vice Admiral Len Janeway is killed on Tau Ceti Prime while test-piloting a prototype ship, Terra Nova, on the planet's polar ice cap.[1]
The first name is taken from his name in an okudagram, instead of the one (Edward) from the novel Mosaic.

Notes

  • SFC's naming rules indicate that the star's most important planet (i.e., Tau Ceti Prime) is the first one. However, the Kaferians' homeworld is Tau Ceti III and a known Human colony is on Tau Ceti IV. For this planet to be the most important suggests an early colony (Human?) was established prior to the other one and before the Kaferians achieved spaceflight (because why would they consider that planet more important than their homeworld?).
  • Presuming Tau Ceti Prime is a colony world that is larger or more important than Tau Ceti IV, then it is most likely a Class L, M, O, or P. Weight is not given to the glaciated class, because Janeway's death is noted to have occurred under a polar ice cap, which would exist on all four classes of planets.
