The Alpha Centauri system is a triple star system, with Alpha Centauri A and B in a barycenter system and Alpha Centauri C orbiting Alpha Centauri AB.

- 3rd century BC: A human colony of Greek descendants is established on Alpha Centauri.[1]
- This does not preclude another species or explain the presence of the humans; that still remains to be decided for game-canon, but definitely occurs prior to 2155.
- 2155: Earth, Andor, Vulcan, Tellar, Alpha Centauri and minor worlds (including Axanar and Kaferia) approve the first draft an agreement for an alliance to be formed for trade, cultural exchange, and for mutual protection.[2]
- 2217: Tritanium-hulled ship construction, including that of the Ranger and Triumphant sub-classes, begins in the Procyon and Alpha Centauri systems.[3]
