- March: A Xindi probe from the Delphic Expanse decimates a large area between Florida and Venezuela, killing seven million people.[2]
- (confirm) Phased particle beam weaponry was introduced.[3]
- (confirm) November 21: The Romulans raid Defense Outpost 4 and the USS Carronade (ND-601, Cavalry class) barely survives the encounter. The senior officers of the destroyer describe enemy vessels painted as giant, winged creatures that performed attack runs with fusion-explosive missiles. Intercepted subspace radio transmissions fron this battle are translated, finally giving the enemy a name - the Romulans. The UESF also obtains its first accurate bearing on Romulan-held space[4][5]
