The Alpha Centauri Space Research Council (SRC) was the Centaurian agency that oversaw the system's interplanetary (and later, interstellar) development of space technology. During the Romulan War, the SRC was the governing authority over starship production in the system in support of its close ally, United Earth. Upon the formation of the United Federation of Planets (2161), the council assumed oversight of Star Fleet's Engineering Command, under the auspices of Admiral Alexis Osman. The department returned to its state duties when Star Fleet reorganized in 2208.
