History

  • June 20, 2156: The Romulans attempt to take Tau Ceti IV, a Human colony, and engage a task force of Andorian, Tellarite, and Starfleet warships. After suffering heavy losses, the Andorians and Tellarites retreat to the edge of the system, while most of the Human ships remain and are destroyed (including USS Atlantis). The colony, Amber, is bombarded and all colonists massacred.[3][1]
  • 2358: Vice Admiral Len Janeway is killed on Tau Ceti Prime while test-piloting a prototype ship, Terra Nova, on the planet's polar ice cap.[5]
The first name is taken from his name in an okudagram, instead of the one (Edward) from the novel Mosaic.

Notes

  • It was decided, for SFC, to make Tau Ceti Prime the same as Tau Ceti IV, since the latter was an early and well-known Human colony, but could have only been founded after another planet named "Prime". Naming the same planet both solves the chronological events problem.
