Historical Events
- The last ships of the Hopkins class are retired.[1]
- The last vessels of the Poseidon heavy cruiser class are retired.[2]
- Crew training for the Clark class 'space tanks' ceases.[3]
- The Capitol class command ships undergo engine overhauls.[4]
- The Broadway class cultural exchange ships undergo engine overhauls.[4]
- Late: The design elements for the new light cruiser are determined and a new model quickly approved.[5]
- The United Federation of Planets makes first contact with Betazed.[6]
- Background material is per the Star Trek Roleplaying Game, Book 7: Worlds. The source indicates contact was made with "the nascent Federation", meaning sometime soon after 2161. I chose this year, to recognize a special reason for 2273 (100th anniversary of first contact) being the year of admission.
- Berengaria VII joins the United Federation of Planets.[6]
