Historical Events

• January 01: The Starfleet Corps of Engineers is considered to have been founded on this date, by a team of engineers building Starbase 1.

The date of January 1 is completely symbolic, but the team did self-name prior to the base's destruction.

• February 8: Starbase 1 opens for operations.

Dates regarding Starbase 1 occur one year earlier than in Federation: The First 150 Years and on Memory Beta, due to the other wartime actions that follow (as presented by Timo).

• The period of (only) clandestine attacks against non-Romulan shipping comes to an end and the great offensive towards the heartspace of Earth and its allies begins. The first punitive missions against the Romulans are mounted.

• Attacks against Earth colonies are generally seen as the beginning of the actual Romulan War.

• March 11: The Romulans order Terrans out of the Algeron system (the location of Starbase 1) via subspace radio.

• May 18: Starbase 1 is lost in a long-reaching Romulan attack.

• The third ship of the Enterprise class is launched.

The assumption of the year is based on there being four in existence by the Romulan War.

• The Hippolyta class corvette enters service with the UESF.

• A seventh ship of the Edison class is ordered.

• The UESS Goddard (Edison class) is lost.

• The Dagger class escort fightercraft enters service.

Year is conjecture, but occurred by "the time the UESF knew it was facing the Romulan Star Empire".

• The sixth ship of the Edison class enters service with the UESF.

• Design work begins on a new Earth-specific corvette.

• SP-36 shuttles embarked onboard Enterprise explorers are equipped with phase cannon armament and augmented combat aerodynamics.

• Earth, Andor, Vulcan, Tellar, Alpha Centauri and minor worlds (including Axanar and Kaferia) approve the first draft an agreement for an alliance to be formed for trade, cultural exchange, and for mutual protection.

• ECS Kobayashi Maru is lost to an apparent Klingon attack.

• After almost 100 years in their initial location relatively near Earth (but without any contact with the planet), the spacebound Neyel colony encounter a spatial interphase rift that deposits them a thousand times farther from home--in the Small Magellanic Cloud, 200,000 light years from the Milky Way Galaxy.

• Construction begins on the first of the Redstone subclass transports.
