History

  • 258: The Last War begins, as city-states Jaleyl and ShirKahr fight for resources and power.[1]
  • By the 4th century: Vulcan is rife with violence and war, arising from the desire for conquest and need for water resources.[2]
  • 312: The Time of Awakening begins, as Surak begins to write of his theories on logic and emotionalism.[3]
  • 319, the High Master of the Kolinahru and adherent of Surak, Sanshiin, transforms the order by blending the doctrines of logic with those of the Kolinahru mindlords.[1]
  • 320: Warp drive is clandestinely developed by scientists of the warlord Sudoc.[4][5]
SFC maintains that warp drive had originally been clandestinely developed by scientists of the warlord Sudoc in 320 and slowly improved, until the few existing warp engines were purloined by Tellus for the 369 exodus' scout vessels.
  • 322: S'vec, one of Surak's first supporters, is executed, making him a martyr.[1]
  • 331: the Last War concludes with the death of the warlord Sudoc.[1]
  • 369: The proto-Romulans depart Vulcan in STL ships under the leadership of Tellus, taking all known specifications for warp drive with them.[6][5]
SFC maintains that warp drive had originally been clandestinely developed by scientists of the warlord Sudoc in 320 and slowly improved, until the few existing warp engines were purloined by Tellus for the 369 exodus' scout vessels.
  • 370: The Confederacy of Surak is founded.[7]
  • 387: Selok promulgates the Theorems of Governance, leading to Vulcan's global unification.[1]
  • 399: The Vulcan Science Academy is founded.[1]
  • 1270: An armada of invading spaceships pour forth from a new wormhole that has formed near Vulcan and opens intermittently.[2]
  • 1376: The intermittent wormhole closes for the final time; the invaders are hunted down and destroyed at their forward bases within the star system, but their identities are never discovered.[2]
The year is SFC-specific; derived from "after a century of constant warfare...".
  • 2218: A Vulcan nationalist group, similar to Earth First, starts to gain support, due in part to increasing Klingon hostility.[9]

Important Locations

  • Fire Plains of Raal
  • Mount Seleya

Notes

  • This is the homeworld of the Vulcans.
  • Vulcan is in a barycentric orbit with its twin planet T'Khut.
