  • February: The last sighting of Romulan activity along the Neutral Zone is noted.[3]
The Romulan Neutral Zone will remain quiet for over 9 months.
  • May: Bajor's petition to join the Federation is approved. Listening to their Emissary, the Bajoran council holds off on accepting the membership.[3]
  • July: A full-scale Dominion invasion of the Alpha Quadrant (comprised of at least 50 ships) begins. An attempt to close the wormhole fails and Jem'Hadar vessels emerge into the quadrant, bypassing DS9 and heading for Cardassia.[3]
