History
- 2244: Various mid-level Star Fleet admirals and staff officers issue formal warnings regarding the possibility of famines and disease outbreaks on the frontier.[1]
- These are determined to have been deliberately ignored by Star Fleet's commander-in-chief and senior planners.
- 2245: A severe famine from fungal contamination on Argal XI is the final . A massive number of colonists lose their lives from starvation and disease. The famine serves as the political catalyst for the collapse of the central government, after reports of catastrophic loss of life are reported in the core world media.[2][3]
- November 2245: Public outrage over the government’s perceived negligence on Tarsus IV and the other frontier worlds triggers a landslide vote of no confidence, resulting in the collapse of President Samuel Solomon Qasr’s administration.[3]
Notes
- The planet must be significantly remote as to be an issue when (in 2245) the famine conditions become clear.
