Historical Events
- The Romulans have a working cloak that can effectively operate both at high warp speeds and allow the cloaked ship to fire torpedoes.[1]
- September: President Min Zife suddenly resigns the office (due to the Tezwa scandal). President Pro Tempore Ra'ch B'ullhy assumes the office until a special general election can be held in October, and the new president sworn in (in November), for a special-length term that will conclude at the end of 2380.[2]
- November: The Romulan Senate is exterminated by a thalaron radiation device and the Remans gain power, with Shinzon establishing himself as the new praetor. Admiral Kathryn Janeway orders the USS Enterprise (Ncc-1701-E, Sovereign heavy cruiser) to Romulus, where Shinzon seemingly wants peace with the UFP. Instead, the invitation is part of a plot to extinguish life on Earth.[3]
- December: The Romulan government falls into disarray following the death of Praetor Shinzon. Tal'aura is now the self-appointed Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire, supported by Fleet Commander Tomalak, but opposed by Commander Donatra.[3]
