Historical Events

• During the final stages of the econo-technological race against the ECON, the US government begins construction on a large defensive space cruiser, tentatively christened the Seneca, in the Freedom Assembly Berth 02 drydock.

• The New United Nations sides with the Western Alliance on legal use of oil fields in the South China Sea and Antarctica. The ECON secedes from the NUN in protest.

• Companion class vessels are openly referred to as "cruisers" by the Western Alliance, by this time.

• The Tarn conquer Repthan, the Sslindi homeworld.

• Late Year: A series of confrontations between the New United Nations and the ECON begins over oil fields located in Antarctica and China.

The start date is conjecture, but is based on having occurred a few months before the ECON's first strike nuclear attack on the NUN.
