- Robert Goddard publishes A Method of Reaching Extreme Altitudes. It describes Goddard’s theories about building working solid and liquid fuel rockets, as well as their applications for manned flight. Both the press and his peers will roundly criticize Goddard at the time. Even so, his work will influence the later efforts of Oberth and von Braun.[1]
