Roster

Heavy Launch Vehicle

DY-T (1989)

Heavy Launch Vehicle

  • carries fuel or other cargo
  • must be large enough to carry a single DY-B1/B2

Transports

DY-50 (1989)

Experimental Transport

  • No DY containers
  • 1 circular airlock for 2-person transfer capsule (on dorsal of tower)
  • escape capsule on aft-side of tower
  • both the mock shuttlebay (ventral) and the rudimentary cargo area (dorsal) have identical clamshell doors
  • gantry connector between "cargo" mid-section and engineering/booster section
  • detailed launch booster is shown below
  • credit to DA jbobroony for visual inspiration

DY-100 (1990)

Transport (early version)

  • Ortho1: unloaded view
  • Ortho2: 5 containers (fwd position, ventral on up)
  • Ortho3: 10 containers (5 fwd, 5 aft)
  • Ortho4: all 16 containers
  • bow needs to "open" to auxiliary storage of (smaller) landing craft (asteroids & lunar capability)

DY-110 Apex (1991)

  • only carries a maximum of 5 container pods
  • increased structure/mass on dorsal and aft of pods
  • must be launched by the DY-A2 (4-rocket cluster)
  • launches with the (typical) DY-B2 fission module

DY-100B (1994)

  • same as earlier DY, but now has the DY-B2 attached on ground
  • launches with the DY-A3 (6-rocket cluster)

DY-120 'Brenton' (2021)

  • militarized version of the commercial DY-120
  • additional fuel tanks are for faster accelerations/decelerations
  • weapons package TBD

DY-130 (2037)

  • civilian commercial vessel that is produced to only 6 units and canceled
  • these hulls later (2042) militarized into the DY-135 'Black Mamba' (below)

DY-140 'Helsinki' (2039)

  • pictured above is the civilian version
  • the militarized variant should be very similar
  • weapons package TBD

DY-135 'Black Mamba' (2042)

  • weapons package TBD

Auxiliaries

  • landing craft reminiscent of lunar module, capable of lunar landings (must fit within bow shroud)
  • landing craft for asteroid mining (must fit within bow shroud)
  • lunar landing tug, must fit within length dimensions of cargo pod; can carry 4 of the pods itself to the surface

Launch Boosters

DY-A1 (1990)

  • early launch system for DY-100s
  • tri-boosters (as depicted)
  • maybe has atmospheric fairings that are shed in orbit?
  • no radiators please

DY-A2 (1991)

  • cluster of 4 rockets
  • used to launch DY-100s and DY-110s
  • jettisoned in orbit, to be replaced by by DY-B series

DY-A3 (1994)

  • Ortho3: 6x cluster; attached to DY-100 (as in above image)

Interplanetary Boosters

DY-B1 (1990)

  • Ortho1: Single booster diagram (like above)
  • Ortho2: Paired boosters attached to DY-100, as for cislunar flight

DY-B2 (1991)

  • originally transported aboard DY-T HVT for orbital attachment
  • definitely needs radiators (for the fission reactors)
  • later (1994), attached to spacecraft on ground, to be launched by DY-A3

DY-B3 (2009)

  • minor progression of the DY-B2

DY-B4 (2017)

  • minor progression of the DY-B3

DY-B5 (2025)

  • progression of the DY-B4
