1. Cut & paste the following code into the blank planet article.
2. For the infobox code:
1. Name: The common name of the planet.
2. AffiliationImage: just the name of the image is sufficient. e.g., Example.jpg, Example.png, etc. If there is no available image, leave the field blank.
3. Designation: the cartographical "name" for the planet (see Naming Conventions for Planets).
4. Affiliation: use wikilinks.
5. Location: use the solar system (with wikilinks), if it is located there; otherwise briefly describe. (ex: "Rogue planet," "deep space," etc.)
6. Sector: use wikilinks; default to proper name (ex: Terra Nova sector) over numbered sectors.
7. Quadrant: use wikilinks.
8. World Status: state the status of the planet, according to the Economy rules.
9. Distance: indicate the mean distance of the planet from the star (in AUs); if a moon, leave blank.
10. Orbit: indicate the numerical number of the planet's orbit around the star; if a moon, leave blank.
11. Orbital Zone: Indicate the type of zone within which the planet is located: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue.
12. Orbital Duration: Indicate the length of time in years (and days) for the planet to orbit the star.
13. Class: replace the question mark ("?") with the letter representing the planetary classification.
14. Rotation Duration Indicate the length of time (in hours) for the planet to rotate; leave blank if not applicable
15. Satellites: Indicate the number of satellites/moons; leave blank if not applicable
16. Atmospheric Density: Describe the density of the planet's atmosphere; leave blank if not applicable
17. Gravity: Indicate the strength of the planet's gravity; leave blank if not applicable
18. Diameter: Indicate the diameter of the planet (in kilometers); leave blank if not applicable
19. Surface Area: Indicate the overall surface area of the planet (regardless of water area) in square kilometers; leave blank if not applicable
20. Water Area: Indicate the overall percentage of water presence on the planet's surface (including ice); leave blank if not applicable
21. Landmasses: Describe the overall presence of landmasses on the planet; leave blank if not applicable
22. Tectonic Activity: Indicate the intensity of tectonic activity; leave blank if not applicable
23. Volcanic Activity: Indicate the intensity of volcanic activity; leave blank if not applicable
24. Temperature Ranges: If the temperature ranges are to be displayed, place High/Low/Avg (in Celsius) in this field; otherwise, leave it blank.
25. Polar, Temperate, Tropical, and Equatorial Zones: leave blank if not performed (or not relevant); otherwise, place in this format: High/Low/Avg.
26. Resource Availability: Leave this blank if no planetary survey has been completed; otherwise report either Abundant or Not Abundant.
27. Normal Metals, Special Metals, Radioactives, Gem Stones, Industrial Crystals: leave blank is the survey has not been completed; otherwise, enter the relevant figure or N/A.
28. Population Capacity: Indicate the maximum capacity the planet can reliably sustain under a CivScale Rating of 9.
29. Dominant Lifeform: If life is present, indicate most advanced form.
30. Global Population: Indicate the present population present on the planet.
31. Lifeform Sentience: If life is present, indicate sentience with "yes" or "no." If not present, leave blank.
32. Sentient Species: Indicate the dominant (may be multiple) species present, regardless of their origin point.
33. Tech Level: Indicate the present tech level of the planet's culture(s).
34. Society Type: Indicate the society type of the planet's culture(s).
35. Production Type: Indicate the dominant production type located on the planet.
3. For the article template:
1. Change the italicized comments accordingly.
2. systemnameIntrasystem: change 'systemname' to the actual system's name; otherwise remove the template tag.
3. : change 'affilliation' to the actual affiliated nation's name; if unaffiliated, remove the category tag.
4. : change '#' to the planetary class letter (from above infobox).
5. : change '#' to the first letter of the planet's name.
4. Save the new article.
