(confirm) February: The Triton class heavy cruiser enters service with the UESF, upon the commissioning of the USS Triton and USS Redoubtable.^[1]

(confirm) The PB-2 series of warp engines were given an official clearance for warp 3 cruising, allowing the first 4 commisioned ships of the Dadedalus class to enter active status.^[2]

(confirm) The first six Iceland class destroyers were launched and, after two months of validation trials, operational testing was initiated. USS Erie and USS Keflov were sent to escort a group of medium freighters to Earth Colony Six. A raiding party, presumably Nausicaan, penetrated into nominally Earth-patrolled space and engaged the convoy; there were no survivors aboard the destroyers, and only one of the freighters managed to escape into high warp.^[3]

The actual raiders were Romulans.

(confirm) The Delta VII outpost is destroyed by what are assumed to be pirates.^[4]

In actuality, Romulans were responsible.
