For example, if an admiral is assigned to a high-level post, such as Deputy Chief of Starfleet Command, figure he might plan to retire within the next 8 years (maximum). The first randomized date is is planned retirement from Star Fleet, while the second is the occasion of his actual death. The first chronological date is the date of the "exit.'
