In the Delta Dynamics-verse, the following governments and agencies own/operate named vessels. The designations they used as prefixes for the ships are as follows:

  • Andorian Imperial Guard - pre-Federation warships were assigned the prefix IGW ("Imperial Guard Warship"); non-combat ships (of the AIG) used the prefix IGS ("Imperial Guard Ship").
  • European Space Agency (ESA) - no prefixes; just named vessels, sometimes accompanied by a missions-series name (ex: Ponce de León - Aventeur II)
  • Federation Star Fleet - when founded in 2161 the UFP Star Fleet designated vessels as USS, short for United Star Ship
  • International Space Agency (ISA) - same as the ESA, except for rescue/regulatory cutters which are preceded by IRC, for either ISA Rescue Cutter or ISA Regulatory Cutter
  • ISA/NASA - Joint interplanetary missions used USNS, for United Survey and Navigation Ship
  • National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - codes, such as OV-101, where the letters represented a mission type and the number was for sequentially designating a specific vessel within that mission
  • New United Nations - United Nations Space Ship (UNSS); ship prefix for the names of the non-enforcement/governmental interplanetary vessels of the United Nations and the NUN’s early interstellar vessels operated by the ISA.
  • United Earth Starfleet (UESF) - starting with its founding in 2133, Starfleet re-designated all vessels as UESS, for United Earth Space Ship
  • United Earth Stellar Navy (UESN) - UES, for United Earth Ship
  • United States Air Force (USAF) - codes, such as OV-101, where the letters represented a mission type and the number was for sequentially designating a specific vessel within that mission
