Historical Events
- This year saw the start of interplanetary surveys of systems within 20 lightyears, mostly by Cosmos class ships, with the intention of establishing a "Dominion of Earth".[1]
- Following the collapse of relations with the Terra Nova colony, assets and resources intended to support the colony are instead utilized to start the Earth Cargo Service (ECS), under the oversight of the Earth Cargo Authority, in a bid to secure dilithium and other necessary extraterrestrial resources via non-Vulcan trade relationships.[2]
- The year is game-canon, but is based upon the Federation statement regarding needed access to dilithium sources and the failure of the colony. The need for dilithium might be down-played, as at this point, Star Fleet is fully committed to using peristaltic forcefields to manage 1:1 m/am reactions, since dilithium reactors have proven so unstable.
