- This is probably done as a direct result in the Vulcans' interest in Sigma Draconis V.
- By 2268: The planet is recorded as having a pre-spaceflight culture and an industrial society on par with Earth in 2030 (despite the lack of orbital capability).[2]

- It seems odd that the indigenous people were overall as advanced as Earth in 2030, but had not achieved spaceflight. Possibly, the "alien" presence within the system had some influence.
