The Vegan Tyranny was an interstellar political entity controlled by the native Vegan species of Vega IX in the Alpha Quadrant. The Tyranny once controlled a vast area of space. However, by the time of the Federation, the Vegans had gone extinct and subsequently little was known about them; some speculated that they may have been a cybernetic race.[1]
History
- 1529: The Vegan Tyranny attacks Rigel VII, causing the destruction of the advanced Orion culture there, resulting in a return to barbarism.[2]
- July 2022: The Andorian Empire makes first contact with the Vegan Tyranny. War is the result.[3]
- 2268: The Starnes Expedition, a party of archeologists on Triacus, are all fatally poisoned (with the exception of the children) by a malevolent entity, the last of its kind.[4]
Notes
- There are no known descriptions of the Vegans in source materials (so far). Originally, they were to be shown in TMP, but the specified aliens were redesignated as Rhaandarites.
