Historical Events

  • February: The Bonaventure returns from its long-term warp shakedown cruise and immediately begins preparing for its mission to Tau Ceti.[1]
The warp shakedown cruise is assumed, but is intended to allow for the source-provided mission to Tau Ceti.
  • July: The Bonaventure launches on its exploration mission to Tau Ceti.[1]
The time of launch, both month and year, is assumed but intended to allow the vessel to arrive back at Earth before any of the Columbus explorers do.
  • 22 August: The Conestoga was laid down in Earth orbit.[2]
  • 14 December: The Jules Verne, Verne class, completes its first warp run, initiated safely outside the orbit of Uranus.[3]
  • The first official diplomatic expedition from Vulcan arrives onEarth and influences talks that result in the Sparon-DeSoto treaty, that forces the national militaries to crew their armed spacecraft with international members. This resulted in the Liberty class ships transferring from United States Air Force control to that of the International Space Agency.[4]
The date of the Sparon-DeSoto treaty is unknown, so it is assumed to have come about as a product of the Vulcan diplomatic mission.
  • The Phoenix was retired and the warp section stored in a high orbit. [5].
  • The infrastructure to build warp engines was being erected at breakneck pace, revitalizing transportation and communication and totally relocating the industry in a way that made many former political boundaries meaningless.[5]
  • The New United Nations is resurrected (though it would be only a matter of years until it collapsed, giving way to a truly unified world government).[5] The Earth Cargo Authority was one of its first established departments.[6]
  • The SS Defiant was destroyed in a region of space later found to be claimed by the Barrier Alliance[7]
  • The first warp-capable DY model, the DY-430, enters production.[8]
Conjecture, based on the model being the first one with warp drive.
