Elements comprise the minerals, metals, and other naturally-occurring substances that exist as resources. The below table indicates whether or not the element is normally found as diffuse minerals, found in veins of ore (metals), or stand out from the either two as radioactive. Additionally, those that crystallize into gemstones and industrial crystals are also identified under the type column. The known usages for each are provided, as well as their rarity; normal metals are those classified as "very common," "common," or "standard," while "rare" and "very rare" are considered to be special metals.

Elements

Elements comprise the minerals, metals, and other naturally-occurring substances that exist as resources. The below table indicates whether or not the element is normally found as diffuse minerals, found in veins of ore (metals), or stand out from the either two as radioactive. Additionally, those that crystallize into gemstones and industrial crystals are also identified under the type column. The known usages for each are provided, as well as their rarity; normal metals are those classified as "very common," "common," or "standard," while "rare" and "very rare" are considered to be special metals.

Alloys

These are manufactured metals and do not occur naturally.

  • Baakonite: edged tools and weapons
  • Beritium: valuable; atmospheric craft
  • Cortenide: light-weight casings
  • Diamide: atmospheric craft
  • Ditanium: trans-atmospheric hulls (such as shuttlecraft)
  • Duritanium: provides protection from explosions in starship (and shuttlecraft) hulls and (later) casings of small objects
  • Ermanium: shuttlecraft
  • Paricium: space installations (out of favor by 24th c.)
  • Terminium: hull casing for photon torpedoes
  • Tetraburnium: hulls of trans-atmospheric crafts and probes designed for high pressure and heat (such as in a gas giant)
  • Toranium: space installations, usually of a military nature

Compounds

These items are combinations of elements that manufactured to forms other than hard metals, such as chemically as drugs, fuels, or explosives, or as alloys for batteries and other manufactured products.
