Revision as of 12:57, 23 March 2018
- Cut & paste the following code into the blank planet article.
- For the infobox code:
- Name: The common name of the planet.
- AffiliationImage: just the name of the image is sufficient. e.g., Example.jpg, Example.png, etc. If there is no available image, leave the field blank.
- Designation: the cartographical "name" for the planet (see Naming Conventions for Planets).
- Affiliation: use wikilinks.
- Location: use the solar system (with wikilinks), if it is located there; otherwise briefly describe. (ex: "Rogue planet," "deep space," etc.)
- Sector: use wikilinks; default to proper name (ex: Terra Nova sector) over numbered sectors.
- Quadrant: use wikilinks.
- World Status: state the status of the planet, according to the Economy rules.
- Distance: indicate the mean distance of the planet from the star (in AUs).
- Orbit: indicate the numerical number of the planet's orbit around the star.
- Orbital Zone: Indicate the type of zone within which the planet is located: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue.
- Orbital Duration: Indicate the length of time in years (and days) for the planet to orbit the star.
- Class: replace the question mark ("?") with the letter representing the planetary classification.
- Rotation Duration Indicate the length of time (in hours) for the planet to rotate.
- Satellites: Indicate the number of satellites/moons.
- Atmospheric Density: Describe the density of the planet's atmosphere.
- Gravity: Indicate the strength of the planet's gravity.
- Diameter: Indicate the diameter of the planet (in kilometers).
- Surface Area: Indicate the overall surface area of the planet (regardless of water area) in square kilometers.
- Water Area: Indicate the overall percentage of water presence on the planet's surface (including ice).
- Landmasses: Describe the overall presence of landmasses on the planet.
- Tectonic Activity: Indicate the intensity of tectonic activity.
- Volcanic Activity: Indicate the intensity of volcanic activity
- Temperature Ranges: If the temperature ranges are to be displayed, place High/Low/Avg (in Celsius) in this field; otherwise, leave it blank.
- Polar, Temperate, Tropical, and Equatorial Zones: leave blank if not performed (or not relevant); otherwise, place in this format: High/Low/Avg.
- Resource Availability: Leave this blank if no planetary survey has been completed; otherwise report either Abundant or Not Abundant.
- Normal Metals, Special Metals, Radioactives, Gem Stones, Industrial Crystals: leave blank is the survey has not been completed; otherwise, enter the relevant figure or N/A.
- Population Capacity: Indicate the maximum capacity the planet can reliably sustain.
- Dominant Lifeform: If life is present, indicate most advanced form.
- Global Population: Indicate the present population present on the planet.
- Lifeform Sentience: If life is present, indicate sentience with "yes" or "no." If not present, leave blank.
- Sentient Species: Indicate the dominant (may be multiple) species present, regardless of their origin point.
- Tech Level: Indicate the present tech level of the planet's culture(s).
- Society Type: Indicate the society type of the planet's culture(s).
- Production Type: Indicate the dominant production type located on the planet.
- For the article template:
- Change the italicized comments accordingly.
- systemnameIntrasystem: change 'systemname' to the actual system's name; otherwise remove the template tag.
- : change 'affilliation' to the actual affiliated nation's name; if unaffiliated, remove the category tag.
- : change '#' to the planetary class letter (from above infobox).
- : change '#' to the first letter of the planet's name.
- Save the new article.
