Note: This file is not currently active, as the current SFC administrator, US Strategic Command, does not operate outside Earth's orbital space and, therefore, does not track neighboring solar systems by sector.

Sector 001, sometimes known as Sol Sector, differs from all other sectors in that it is comprised of exactly one solar system, Sol. The reason for this distinction is because the United Federation of Planets islocated on Sol III, better known as Earth. As the center of the Federation, and for cartographic reasons, the system forms a corner of eight other sectors. Because of this unique 'shape,' it also is the only sector to fall within both the Alpha and Beta quadrants.
For further information on this sector, please refer to the file on Sol.
