The Undersecretary of Manpower & Resources for Starfleet is the senior civilian official for ensuring Starfleet receives the proper support for it's primary missions (exploration, defense and interstellar law enforcement) by providing and legislatively protecting the personnel and technological support to accomplish those missions. The Undersecretary's office coordinates closely with the Commander, Starfleet, as well as the Manpower, Medical, Resources and Administration components of Starfleet in order to establish and influence the legislative policies and actions necessary to conduct Starfleet's day-to-day operations.
