History FSC Vol 3

  • In Guide:Columbus series, the ship is described completely with the statement "the multi-nationally manned prototype AFP-1 experimented on e-beam pulsed fusion detonation drive but met with a disaster of a more concrete kind, with 14 lives lost." Its loss is also referenced as barely acquiring any media attention.
  • FSC vol 3 has a brief section on page 10 describes it as an FTL prototpe that was destroyed by space terrorist Colonel Green. Both are impossible in the DD-verse. Instead, the ship will be as Timo describes it, in a push to advanced the rapid acceleration (compared to ion) technology of fusion drives. A news article on the loss is presented on page 27 and an image with specs is on page 32. Green will have to wait for his 2053 abandonment by the NUN, but the article could reference "conspiracy" theories about a detonation by opposing forces.
