Historical Events

  • USS Clara Barton (NCC-287), Castor class survey cruiser, helps fight the Rigelian fever at its outbreak by providing both laboratory facilities, database services and quarantine enforcement that initially limits the plague to Rigel V.[1]
  • The final Venture class light cruiser to be constructed enters service.[2]
  • During acceptance trials, USS Scotia (NCC-1006, Horizon class) achieved warp 5.9 for two minutes (though it was much later realized Warp 6 had actually been 'touched').[3]
  • The final ships (of the finally 13 ordered) of the Horizon heavy cruiser class are completed and enter service.[3]
  • The Armstrong subclass is re-designated as a light cruiser.[4]
The year of re-designation is presumed to occur two years after initial delievery, based on the text, "...and was soon re-designated a general light cruiser asset instead."
  • The Tritium (NCC-X1000) construction is completed and trials of the three-nacelle lobe fields begin.[5]
