Game Definition

As indicated above, couriers are small starships, minimally-crewed with the sole intention of rapid delivery of sensitive materials. They are fast at warp, though not necessarily nimble at sublight. Minimally armed with phasers, they can usually shoot to discourage pursuit and don't actively seek engagement. They may be attached to starbases or other fleet concentration areas during peacetime, while in wartime, they may operate in fleet actions as one of a small number, each ready to break out for a sudden delivery mission. They will mass more than runabouts and will have a permanent crew.

• Role: medium- to long-range fasy delivery of important personnel/materials; starbase assigned though use in large fleets in small numbers
• Size: larger than runabouts, but small & similar to cutters
• Weapons: light phaser use
