- In a Pyrrhic victory, USS Akula<\/em> (NCC-275), a Placido<\/em> class scout, is lost following combat against Klingons at the Battle of Arquin Pillar, as are the Kwajalein<\/em> (NCC-406, Trent<\/em> class) and Jacoubet<\/em> (NCC-479, Kovaris<\/em> subclass). The battle also marked the first of massed sublight fightercraft by a Star Fleet task force, to a dismal failure. Two of the nine Trents<\/em> deployed to the region fell out and did not make the engagement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
