Antimatter
A generalized term used to describe a state of matter composed of the antiparticles of corresponding particles in “ordinary” matter, along with a reversed charge. A collision between a particle of matter and an antiparticle of antimatter results in the energetic annihilation of both. An important agent of warp travel, antimatter is primarily produced within the Federation by solar-orbiting manufacturing facilities which harness the captured energy to power charge reversal devices, converting deuterium into antideuterium.
