Our Mission

Delta Dynamics‘ focus is the generation of high-quality journal issues—under the Starship Recognition Manual (SRM) brand—filled with meticulously-plotted images, evocative writing, and amplifying technical details. For the time being, far more information (written and visual) may be found in those downloadable and printable documents, available in the PDF format.

However, due to the nature of the content production (in support of the highly-detailed imagery), the journals are not supportive of the search/find features of typical PDF readers. This site is intended not only as a repository of the SRMs and the images found within, but also as a means for our content consumers to search out written information previously released in the documents. While we may eventually add all details printed in the manuals to this website, at the present time the downloadable documents have far more details regarding the ship classes presented.

Who we are

Delta Dynamics is a fan site focused on recognizing and building upon the Star Trek universe, as interpreted by author Timo Saloniemi.

The founders, RevancheRM and Adrasil, met on DeviantArt (DA), an online community featuring artwork, videography, and photography. Adrasil, a producing member of the DA community since 2008, submitted art generally within the sci-fi genre, with a focus on the universes of Space: 1999, Mass Effect, and Star Wars. However, it was his Star Trek creations that caught the eye of RevancheRM in 2018, at which time they began collaborating on combining Adrasil’s orthos of starships with RevancheRM’s summaries of ships explored within Saloniemi’s three-volume Hobbyist’s Guide to the UFP Starfleet and Its History (and influenced by the guidance of Steven S. Long’s Spacedock).

In the summer of 2019, the two began compiling previously completed collaborations under the Delta Dynamics banner, in a series of reports titled Starship Recognition Manuals, in honor of and heavily influenced by the seminal works of Neale “Vance” Davidson, author of the Jaynz series of Star Trek starship reports. The Delta Dynamics site was first made public in March 2020, with continuing admiration for Davidson, Long, and Saloniemi.
