History

  • unknown: Due to the extreme compatibility/similarity of Centaurian and Human DNA, as well as being the closest star systems to each other, there is a strong hypothesis that Alpha Centauri Prime was settled by Humans before the planet's recorded history.[3]
  • 1860: The Plague Wars begins, when one of two competing city-state alliances releases biological weapons on the other.[1]
The year is uncertain, but it "lasted over a decade".[4]
  • 1871: An Emergency Medical Council comprised of an international team of scientists and doctors develops an effective antiviral agent and vaccine for the plagues sweeping the planet.[4]
  • 1876: The discoverer of the plague vaccine, Dr. Kulei Asephas, is convinced to become the first global president of what will (eventually) become the Concordium of Planets.[4][5]
  • 12 May 2065: UNSS Icarus arrives in the Alpha Centauri system, extends her sensor gear, and is hit by radio-frequency broadcasts, low enough in power not to be discernible outside the systems’ ionization bubbles but still undoubtedly marks of advanced civilizations. A first contact report is radioed back to Earth.[6][3]
The ship's crew would visit the inhabitants of the system for 13 months, before departing for home.
  • 2085: With the assistance of Earth, Alpha Centauri becomes warp capable.[7]
  • 2217: Tritanium-hulled ship construction, including that of the Ranger and Triumphant sub-classes, begins in the Procyon and Alpha Centauri systems.[8]
  • Prior to 2231: Star Fleet decides to provide five transportable drydocks to Alpha Centauri to begin immediate production on the Rochester class cruisers.[9]
  • In the wake of the 2267 Organian Peace Treaty, a conference is held between the Federation and Klingons in New Athens to settle details.[10]

Important Locations

  • New Athens: a settlement with notable convention center
This school makes use of the Nebula Flight Range established at Alpha Centauri AB VII[3]
