History
- 2229: Thranstor is surveyed by the Federation, resulting in its selection as the site for a major industrial base for the support of future exploration & colonization efforts.[1][2]
- SFC's year of date differs from the source.
- 2236: Major mining begins on Thranstor and the construction of fabrication & production facilities starts.[1][2]
- Source suggests it had started by 2245 (prior to the five-year offset); SFC sets a hard start date.
- 2239: A Kepler (K-type) station is completed in orbit of Thranstor IV.[1][2]
- Source suggests it had started by 2245 (prior to the five-year offset); SFC sets a hard start date.
- 2241: With the outbreak of hostilities with the Klingon Empire comes a flood of personnel and assets to establish a major shipbuilding complex in orbit of Thranstor IV.[1][2]
- 2241: Construction of a G-type station is started in orbit of Thranstor IV, for the purpose of a major command and control center.[1][2]
- Early September 2244: "The Battle of Thranstor" ended with an overwhelming victory for Star Fleet: the telegraphed attack was met with a prepositioned reserve force battle group and an operational task force, marking the beginning of the end of the Imperial Klingons' ability to wage an ongoing conflict. USS Ares (NCC-1650) is involved in the victory of the yards in this system against the Klingons, leaving them with an acute shortage of capital ships.[1][2][3]
Notes
- It is unclear if this is a defensive victory for the Federation, or a successful attack on a Klingon shipyard. The Starship Files site's Surya/Coventry class issue does give a good accounting of the system being Federation (though years past those for SFC's canon Four Years War period).
