Command ships
This (scratch) article will examine the hierarchy or roles of command ships. This comes from the description of those roles in the second paragraph of the Unity article:
Command ships have different capabilities:
- Task Force: they provide Command, Control, and Communication (C3) requirements needed at the task force level, which handles a single defined task or activity.
- "Basic Fleet-level operations": this is the same, but presumes a much larger force—the entirety of the given numbered fleet—operating together in one (relatively) close formation.
- "Theater-wide HQ": essentially controls all military forces (naval and otherwise) operating spread out over a given theater of operation.
