MacAttack wrote some fun stories about the actions of the Warriors, and we Warriors wrote one as well. We had fun until The Dropship was finally shut down by the other SteelCommand Admins when they decided to move over to CAV after FASA did the belly up dance.
Me, I stayed with BTech and continue to have fun with the universe, even if I don't agree with everything the writers have done. Anyways, P.R.I. is my main website, over 100 megabytes of programs and files dedicated to helping people play BattleTech. As time goes on, I'm bringing it in some ways close to the Pryde Rock faction I've been working on for litterally as long as I've been in Battletech, since the 3052 era of the early 90s.
For those of you wondering about my name, Medron Pryde was the first character I ever played in Mechwarrior Second Edition. He is a member of the large Pryde family who live in the Marik Commonality, mostly centered on Marik and Atreus. The Prydes have long been known as staunch supporters of the Captain-General and have some influence in matters. Medron himself chose to leave the League after the current Captain-General (Thomas Marik) attacked the Federated Commonwealth and helped to destroy the best hope the Inner Sphere had of ending the Clan threat once and for all.
The Prydes DON'T like the Clans. They REALLY don't like them. The Pryde that fled with Kerensky rather then stay and defend those who needed help is roundly considered a traitor to the Pryde family, right along with the rest of the Star League army that fled. And the Clans are the spawn of traitors that have taken the Pryde name and turned it into a bloody rag to be fought over like dogs fight in the street over hot dogs rolling in the mud. They don't like the Clans. The Wolves-In-Exile are barely tolerable. The Jade Falcons? They deserve death. Pure and simple.
And that's my character....
Me, I'm from Rochester, Minnesota in the good ol' US of A, where I've lived since 1992 after leaving Kansas. I was originally born in Fergus Falls Minnesota but ended up spending my formative years in Kansas, the buckle of the bible belt where you can see church advertisements in the public schools. Where the Catholic church holds religion classes before school starts and the school THEY own is the one everybody wants their kids to go to because its the best in town.
And one of the reasons I love BattleTech so much is because it is one of the few roleplaying universes out there without any magic. Its just good clean fun...until you blow off the other guy's head with a gauss rifle...then its just fun...
I'm 50% scandanavian (Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish), add in a touch of British, Irish, and Scottish, not to mention some German and Austrian/Yugoslavian, and I can fight World War One all on my own...
Anyways, I love to write stories and tend to be talking to people about writing stories when I'm not actively writing stories at any one time. Or reading books which has been difficult to do of late because of a recent REALLY big push of writing stories. I used to love to draw, until my drawings started turning into stories and then I just started writing and stopped drawing. I'm not joking, I have six books of drawings which tell the tale of the Atlantian Empire for six centuries of battles until they were finally defeated. That was fun. I've never done it again, but it was fun.
My last book of drawings was placed a thousand years prior to my other series and was telling the tales of numerous Battlestars named Galactica as they fought the Cylons in their great war. Yes, I linked my stories in STRONGLY with the old BattleStar Galactica TV series, NOT the new Richard Hatch books. Hey, they're cool, just a bit out there on the believability scale....
But beyond that, I love Transformers (Generation One all the way baby!) where my favorite character is Fortress Maximus from the comic. I also enjoy Babylon Five (for some reason this board sees 5 as 4 so I have to spell it out...huh?), Star Trek, DS9, Voyager (sometimes) and Enterprise. TNG was fun too, and sometimes I watch the episodes that come up on my Tivo. Cowboy Bebop and Big O are the anime I love the best, and I often watch the old Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century cartoon as well, a really good American made cartoon.
As far as books go, David Weber rules, along with Timothy Zahn and Michael Stackpole. I love the Star Wars novels, not the New Jedi Order crap coming out now with the uber-extra-galactic enemy that wipe their arses with Jedi Sabres because they tickle, and anything to do to with the Honor Harrington universe. Add in the dude who wrote Ender's Game (an AWESOME book if you haven't read it) and I think you can tell I like sci-fi. Oh...I also am a complete and utter Lord of the Rings fanboy. Gandalf Rules. Word. 8)
Beyond that....well.....um....I can't really think of anything else right now. Glad to speak and hope you don't think I'm too much of a nerd...
