Well, we are done with another campaign. This last battle went rather well I thought. It was a challenge for all involved.

Props go to the two operational BattleMechs at the end, the Avatar and the Shugenja.

Laughs go to the two PARTIALLY operational BattleMechs at the end, the Marauder with a missing leg and the Sirocco "Rebel Crusher" missing ALL it's legs. *snickers in good fun* I would NOT want to be the MechWarrior who watched all four legs pop off to either side so he could ride the falling torso to the pavement below. hehehe. I bet the bounce left a mark or two. Wink

Fallen 'Mechs included a Grand Titan, a Thanatos, and a Mad Cat, leaving more BattleMechs "techically" operational at the end than down. Of course, "technically" is a rather broad term. I hope the Sirocco pilot had a nice HeavyMetalCoffee Maker to sip off while waiting for the infantry to secure what remained of the enemy force.

Oh. By the way. Yeah.

Remember those Wobblie BattleMechs that ran a while back? You know. The six or seven or so BattleMechs that have been playing patty cake with your hovercraft for the last few minutes?

Well. Yeah.

They're coming this way now. Best guess is they're about an hour away, maybe two out if the hovercraft can slow them down a mite.

What do you all want to do? Smile

The Word of Blake BattleMechs have continued to advance on the compound.

They are currently within half and hour, possibly just over an hour away with sufficient harassing. Unfortunately, the hovercraft report that their ammunition levels are in the red and will not last more than a handful of salvos and they have to be very careful now.

What do you want to do?

I think it's time to make a French advance- upward.

hmmmm. Yeah. Probably a good idea.

The Marauder, with the help of the Shugenja and Avatar, is able to hobble onto the Mule.

The engineer rips out the old computer system and starts implanting her own systems to see if she can get the controls to work. She says she'll know in a few minutes if she'll be able to get this piece of junk flying again.

Ok. You are able to locate two 'Mech movers. Each can move one 'Mech at a time and they look like they will take a few minutes to winch a 'Mech onto them. Once on though you can pull the 'Mechs into the Mule or bring another DropShip over to haul them onto.

The BattleMechs are no half an hour out and the hovercraft are in full retreat. They are out of ammunition and are falling back to the DropShips.

The Word of Blake BattleMechs have arrived to retake the spaceport, though the buccaneer was able to slow them down by a couple minutes by a strafing run. It took heavy damage though and returned to orbit to lick its wounds.

This gave you time to load two disabled units onto the captured Mule and the engineer was able to get just enough of its computer working to engage the engines and make for space.

The two hovercraft move onto the Mule moments before liftoff. The Avatar, Shugenja, and the damaged Marauder were able to get themselves onto the Mule before it launched. So you have two disabled units in addition to those units that you were able to pull off world with you.

You can decide what units you spent your time picking up or I can. I will take your silence or response as your vote.

What do we have available to get? And does that two include the mechs we landed with or are those on the ship already?

The 'Mechs that were on the DropShips are still on the DropShips.

Of the units that were fighting in this battle the two surviving artillery pieces can make it back to the DS. They spent the rest of their ammo slowing down the Wobblies as the hovercraft ran for it and then drove up into it. The Galleons supporting the hovercraft also made it onto the ship.

The only BattleMechs capable of moving themselves after the battle were the Avatar, Shugenja, and with help the Marauder. None of them have hands though so none of them could drag other 'Mechs onto the DS.

No other player or Wobblie BattleMechs involved in the fight had the ability to move themselves onto the DS as they are all offline for various reasons.

You now have time to pick two of them to be retuned to the DS via the two 'Mech haulers you were able to find and get operational.

You just had to ask that didn't you?

Wink

*sighs and starts rummaging through his paperwork*

Tiger BattleMechs currently disabled
Grand Titan, Thanatos, Sirocco, and Mad Cat

Wobblie BattleMechs currently disabled
Atlas AS7-D, Atlas AS7-K, Daishi Widowmaker, Rifleman IIC, Emperor EMP-6A, BattleMaster BLR-4S, and Banshee BNC-5S

You can pick two of these units to be pulled onto the ship. If you want, you can attempt to demo the ones you are not taking. Smile

Currently in one of your DSs somewhere are the following units

Shugenja, Marauder, Avatar, Ryoken, Men Shen, Vixen, Rifleman IIC, Kraken, Baboon, Galahad, Vulture, and Fire Falcon. That's a nice company there. Wink

Stinger LAM, and Phoenix Hawk LAM. Nice scouting element if you ever get anybody trained to fly them. hehehe

Chevalier, Manteuffel * 3, Goblin Arrow IV, Chaparral * 2, Galleon * 2, Drillson, and Condor. And a nice vehicle support company too. Lots of nice artillery and "big gun" units too.

The BattleArmor are also able to exfiltrate to the DS.

I'd like to go for the Daishi and the Thanatos. Daishi, for it's massive firepower. Thani for its TC/LPL combo.

I will note your picks. Very Happy

So...do you want to attempt to set up demolitions on the BattleMechs that you are not taking with you?

Sure. If there's any sort of group to set booby traps for, it's the biggest boobies, the Wobblies- although why they'd want a Sirrocco Center Torso is beyond me...

Randomly determined Demolition results

Tiger BattleMech Demolition
Grand Titan - Not Destroyed
Sirocco - Destroyed
Mad Cat - Not Destroyed

Wobblie BattleMech Demolition
Atlas AS7-D - Destroyed
Atlas AS7-K - Destroyed
Rifleman IIC - Destroyed
Emperor EMP-6A - Destroyed
BattleMaster BLR-4S - Destroyed
Banshee BNC-5S - Destroyed

The explosives on the Grand Titan and the Mad Cat did not go off well enough completely destroy the BattleMechs, but you do note that it will be very difficult to repair them. Still...time is up and you really have to go.

Do you want to leave them any final "gifts" from on high as you leave?
